Visual Art
Kings & Queens
12—5pm daily
Free and open to the public.
In conjunction with this year’s celebration of Everybooty, Brooklyn Pride and Stonewall50, BAM Visual Art welcomes an exhibition of photographs from the internationally acclaimed series Kings & Queens. These stunning images depict two versions of the same person in a single image—in this case, drag artists interacting with their everyday selves. Each portrait is a technically flawless juxtaposition of one individual as two separate entities, emphasizing, with compassion and emotion, their multifaceted nature and a deeper understanding of the self. Taken as a series, Kings & Queens champions social awareness of everyone’s right to express their identity, in whatever form they choose.

Everybooty descends on BAM this WorldPride weekend for a four-floor, more-is-more art party with the glitteriest critters of the queer art and nightlife worlds. This radical evening of revelry fills the BAM Fisher from basement to rooftop with performances, DJs, installations, and general ruckus, serving up too much as just enough.
New for 2019: a piano lounge for group singalongs, hosted by Lyra Vega and featuring special guests Salty Brine, Jo Lampert, Erin Markey, Tasha Michelle, and more! Andre J., Switch n’ Play, Flower Tortilla, Lady Quesa’Dilla, Viva Vidalia, Theydy Bedbug, and the House of LaBeija bring life to the Fishman Space, plus DJ sets by Papi Juice and J Clef and decor by Melo Davis. Photographs by internationally acclaimed artist project, Kings & Queens, will be featured in the lower lobby.
