What is IDNYC?
IDNYC is a government-issued photo identification card. IDNYC will secure the peace of mind and access to New York City services that come from having recognized identification.
Who can obtain an IDNYC card?
All New York City residents. IDNYC benefits every city resident, including the most vulnerable communities: the homeless, youth, the elderly, undocumented immigrants, the formerly incarcerated, and others who may have difficulty obtaining other government-issued ID.
How much is does an IDNYC card cost?
All IDNYC cards are free.
What membership is BAM offering to IDNYC card holders?
BAM is offering all IDNYC card holders a free Level 1 membership for one year.
Are there any eligibility terms for obtaining a free BAM membership?
Per the terms set by the City of New York, IDNYC card holders are eligible for free membership only if they have not been a member of the particular institution they’re seeking to join since January 1, 2013. Therefore, individuals who have been members of BAM since that date are not eligible for a free membership through IDNYC. BAM is pleased to accept membership applications with IDNYC cards issued outside of the current calendar year.

How do I apply for my BAM membership with my IDNYC card?
Present your IDNYC card and a completed membership application at the BAM box office or BAM membership table (Peter Jay Sharp Building, 30 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn) during select hours. You can also scan and email your IDNYC card and membership application form to membership@BAM.org with the subject line “IDNYC Application”.
If you meet the requirements, you will receive a welcome email with your membership number. Your membership card will arrive in the mail (to the person and address listed on the card) at least one month after your application is approved. BAM memberships are not transferable.
Do I need to have my physical IDNYC card before I apply for a membership at BAM?
Yes, BAM requires that all applicants present their IDNYC card for verification or email a copy of the card to membership@BAM.org.
