This multimedia production explores the historical accounts of the Middle Passage, Slavery, and Emancipation. Inspired by “The MAAFA Suite” and the teachings of Bishop Rev. Dr. Johnny Ray Youngblood, REMEMBERING is American history told by African Voices, lacing Contemporary and African Dance with audio-visual elements, including spoken word, music, and African drumming.
