Julius (O’Connor) is a struggling musician fallen on hard times in 80s New York who cooks up a get-rich-quick scheme: He’s going to locate the legendary, elusive guitar maker Elmore Silk, whose disappearance has made his creations covetable. His journey, filled with wrong turns and dead ends, culminates in revelation in the Canadian wilderness. One of the great cult classics of the 80s, the film boasts a supporting cast that includes Tom Waits, Leon Redbone, Joe Strummer, Dr. John, David Johansen, Mary Margaret O'Hara, and more musical luminaries, all working under the watch of legendary photographer Robert Frank and seasoned novelist/screenwriter Rudy Wurlitzer.
