- BAM Film 2024
Director Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse, The Northman) offers a richly atmospheric new take on F. W. Murnau’s 1922 silent film Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, about a German vampire obsessed with a haunted young woman. Eggers provided his own script for this update of a cinematic milestone based not so loosely on Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula. An utterly transformed Bill Skarsgård is Count Orlok, the vampire of the title, opposite Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter, and Willem Dafoe as the vampire hunter Albin Eberhart Von Franz.
