The newest offbeat saga from Joel Potrykus, Grand Rapids-rooted indie writer-director of the “Animal Trilogy” Ape, Coyote, and Buzzard, revisits two characters introduced a decade ago in the last of those films. Friends Marty (Joshua Burge) and Derek (Potrykus) trudge through a Michigan forest, intending to follow through on a disturbing pact. But when their plan goes shockingly awry, the consequences of their failure can’t stay hidden for long—and one must return home to deal with the legal and emotional repercussions.
