CURRICULUM CONNECTIONS: Global Studies, Social Studies
The nation’s largest festival dedicated to African diasporic dance and music opens up Brooklyn’s stages and streets to the rich culture and artistry of Uganda. Now in its 49th year, this beloved celebration lifts up history and arts from Africa for the unofficial start of summer. Our school and community partners are invited to join us on May 20 and 21 for an hour-long school-time event. Let this special DanceAfrica matinee bring your school’s field-trip season to an exhilarating end!

Free pre- and post-show workshops are available to all schools who purchase tickets to this performance. These 45-minute to hour-long workshops will be facilitated at your school by one of BAM’s teaching artists.
