BAM's Winter/Spring Season showcases artists who define excellence in theater, dance, music, and opera today.
BAM's Winter/Spring Season showcases artists and companies who define excellence in international theater, dance, music, and opera today. BAM presents US and world premiere performances, beloved annual events, and exceptional work that embody BAM's mission to be the home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideas. The season runs from January through June and includes theater, dance, and music events in all theater venues including the annual DanceAfrica celebration, plus BAMcafé Live, artist talks, visual art exhibitions, and literary events.
Past Winter/Spring Season theater productions have included: The Bridge Project's Richard III (2012) with Kevin Spacey, The Diary of a Madman (2011) with Geoffrey Rush, A Streetcar Named Desire (2010) with Cate Blanchett, and Macbeth (2008) with Patrick Stewart (which transferred to Broadway). In 2008, BAM began producing its own works, including the three-concert series Love in Hard Times: The Music of Paul Simon and Beckett's Endgame with John Turturro and Elaine Stritch. In 2009, BAM launched The Bridge Project, a three-year partnership with The Old Vic and Sam Mendes' Neal Street Productions to produce classic plays featuring a transatlantic cast of actors from London and New York.
