Dive into the world of dance in this free after-school program! Learn and create new choreography in fun, supportive workshops led by professional artists. The program culminates in a final performance where teens work together to create and perform an original piece that showcases their creative styles and new skills.

In this program, students will:

• · Explore a variety of dance styles with professional teaching artists and guest choreographers
• · Attend performances by world-class dance companies
• · Create dynamic choreography, working directly with professional dance artists
• · Perform their original work onstage at BAM’s Fishman Space, open to friends, family, and the public

Intensive II (Reggie Wilson Critical Response Program): Jan 8, 9,15, 16,18, 22, 23
Intensive III (Kyle Abraham Critical Response Program): Feb 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, and 27
Intensive IV (Word.Sound.Power Choreography Intensive with Jade Charon): Mar 27, April 2,3, 9, 10
Intensive V: (DanceAfrica): May 26, 28, Jun 4,5

Application Deadline

All students must complete an online application and interview in order to be considered for the program. No previous experience is required. BAM will cover the cost of performance tickets and MetroCards on days of performances.
