Co-presented by BAM and Mark Morris Dance Group
In conjunction with portrait of myself as my father

For experienced and professional dancers

Internationally acclaimed choreographer/performer nora chipaumire leads this workshop to help dancers develop an individual artistic voice. Based on thematic inquiries from her Next Wave presentation portrait of myself as my father, chipaumire’s workshop will examine questions of masculinity, portraiture, and the black/African body. Participants will be led through a physical, vocal, and mental warm-up before engaging in inquiry-based activities and reflective discussions to create original movement motifs. This workshop includes themes particular to men of African descent.
