(Re) Centering Theater Residency
Education
GRADES 9—12
Part of In-School Residencies
Recognizing the importance of representation in theater, this in-school residency centers playwrights of color and LGBTQ+ playwrights so students can see themselves and their communities reflected in the work they engage with.
Students unleash their creativity, working together to devise and perform an original work in response to what they read.
This program comprises 13 in-school residency sessions, each 45 minutes to 1 hour long, in which students dream up, develop, revise, and rehearse a work of theater, ending in a culminating performance both at our partner schools and at BAM.
