Krzysztof Kieślowski’s swan song is the grand conclusion to his historic Three Colors trilogy and an iridescent, life-affirming meditation on fate and the whims of human nature.

Wim Wenders’ sublime, Palme d’Or-winning road movie traverses the mythic landscapes of the American Southwest as Harry Dean Stanton’s amnesiac desert drifter sets out from Texas to California in search of his estranged wife (Nastassja Kinski). The indelible, near-wordless performance from Stanton; dusty, neon-soaked cinematography by Robby Müller; and masterfully minimalist screenplay by Sam Shepard come together in an aching meditation on lost love and longing.
