Bernice, a shy young woman, leaves her safe home to visit her flapper cousin. When her cousin tries to teach her how to be much more modern, Bernice gives her much more than she bargained for. Directed by beloved New York auteur Silver (Hester Street, Crossing Delancy) and based on the story that brought F. Scott Fitzgerald to national notice, the film was made for a PBS Television series hosted by Henry Fonda. In addition to Duvall playing the title role, the cast includes Veronica Cartwright (The Birds, Alien) and Bud Cort (Brewster McCloud, Harold and Maude).
