  • BAM Film 2025
Directed by Ibrahim Snoopy Ahmad, Timeea Mohamed Ahmed, Rawia Alhag, Philip Cox, Anas Saeed (2025)
In 2022, Sudanese filmmakers Anas Saeed, Rawia Alhag, Ibrahim Snoopy, and Timeea Ahmed teamed up with British director Phil Cox to document the lives of five Khartoum residents forced to flee Sudan for East Africa after a military coup displaced over 10 million people — including the filmmakers themselves. Their subjects include a civil servant, a tea seller, a resistance committee member, and two young bottle collectors, who reenact their experiences of survival through dreams, revolution, and war.

Khartoum reflects resilience and creative urgency, blending pre-exile footage with imaginative green-screen sequences to craft a deeply personal account of a devastating, underreported conflict.
