Directed by Olivier Assayas (2007)
With Asia Argento, Michael Madsen, Kelly Lin Hsi-Lei
Shifting from Paris to Hong Kong, this erotic anti-thriller by French filmmaker Olivier Assayas (Irma Vep, Demonlover) follows a former sex worker (Argento) who gets pulled back in the orbit of aging corporate gangster and former lover (Madsen). A globe trotting look at power and sex in hubs of millennial-era international capital, Boarding Gate was described by J. Hoberman as “self-consciously hypermodern” and “meta-sleazy.”
