Queer as Punk is a riotous documentary following Shh…Diam! (“shut up!”), a queer Malaysian punk band led by trans frontman Faris. With biting lyrics and explosive energy, the group takes a fearless stand against the country’s anti-LGBTQ government, turning every performance into both a protest and a celebration. Humor, heart, and deeply personal stories collide as the band creates space for queer joy in a society that tries to silence them. For Faris and Shh…Diam!, punk isn’t just an aesthetic–it’s resistance, resilience, and a lifeline that keeps them going.
