With
Anouk Aimée, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Pierre Barouh
When Anne Gauthier (Anouk Aimée), a widowed script supervisor, meets widower Jean-Louis Duroc (Jean-Louis Trintignant), a handsome race car driver, at their respective children's boarding school, a budding romance blossoms in the shadow of their former relationships. The resulting connection culminates in a final scene that “should go down in history as one of the most romantic ever put to film” (Far Out, UK). Ravishingly filmed by director, producer, and cinematographer Claude Lelouch and memorably scored by Francis Lai, A Man and a Woman won the Palme d’Or at the 1966 Cannes Film Festival and two Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Screenplay in 1967. Nearly six decades later, this romance for the ages screens in a dazzling 4K restoration supervised by Lelouch.
