It's summertime, and the Algerian working class Bouderbala family, led by matriarch Zohra (Fatiha Ouared), arrives at the beach early to secure a perfect spot in the sand with an unobstructed view of the water. But as the throngs of summer beachgoers begin to arrive, things start to go awry inside and outside the Bouderbala clan. Prolific Algerian writer-director Merzak Allouache directs this dramedy of errors about family, class, and the politics of leisure.
