Sing For HopeSing for Hope harnesses the power of the arts to create a better world, bringing hope, healing, and connection to millions of people in hospitals, schools, care facilities, and public spaces worldwide. Founded in New York City in response to 9/11 by Juilliard sopranos Monica Yunus and Camille Zamora, who brought musicians together to perform for communities in need, the organization today partners with hundreds of community-based organizations. Sing for Hope mobilizes thousands of artists in creative service and produces artist-created Sing for Hope Pianos across the United States and around the world.
Sing for Hope’s Public Health & Wellbeing program co-creates research-based arts interventions that foster wellness and connection in partnership with hospitals, care facilities, community centers, and public spaces. Designed for systemic impact, our work supports individuals, organizations, and communities.
In Summer 2025, Sing for Hope delivered 40 group singing sessions across nine New York City community and care settings, generating more than 800 points of engagement and reaching approximately 315 unique participants. These programs are designed using an evidence-informed arts in health approach, tailored to community needs, and evaluated for lasting impact. The proposed Sing for Hope Families pilot at BAM builds directly on this proven model, creating a welcoming, music-filled space for adults with young children to connect, sing, and share in community.
