David Rivera y La Bámbula

David Rivera is a singer-songwriter, drummer, and leader of the band La Bámbula. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Rivera has developed a sound with universal appeal, centered on the fusion of Caribbean tropical rhythms with elements of modern music. In his own words: “I don’t define my music within a single category; rather, it’s a fusion that weaves together hip-hop beats, funk, R&B, and touches of electronic music with the echoes of 1970s salsa and the rich Caribbean and Puerto Rican tradition—perfect for jazz lovers, dancers, and even for the heart.”

Setting the stage is Discolocas, a club night established in March 2022 to provide a safe, supportive space where women selectoras and DJs could feel comfortable sharing their vinyl selections. Expect to be moved by everything from vintage rumba, salsa, and cumbia to experimental sounds.
