Take My Breath, the third feature film from Tunisian director Nada Mezni Hafaiedh, relates the story of a 23-year-old seamstress forced into a life steeped in secrecy and unimaginable pain. When Shams' intersex identity is exposed, their life unravels. Engaged in a steamy love affair and targeted by an obsessive attacker, they take refuge with their lover's mystic cousin as they come to terms with their complex sense of self.
