Finland’s own version of The Wolfman with a feminist twist, The White Reindeer presents a monstrous transformation unlike any you’ve seen before. Newly married Pirita wants her busy husband to spend more time at home, and seeks the help of a nearby shaman. But what she thinks is a love potion turns out to have terrible side effects—transforming her into a bloodthirsty reindeer. Shot on location in the icy tundra of Lapland, The White Reindeer is folk horror at absolute zero—stark, chilling, beautiful.
