In this 2004 psychological thriller set in NYC, a young boy, Sean (Cameron Bright), attempts to convince a widow, Anna (Nicole Kidman), that he is the reincarnation of her dead husband, who collapsed suddenly 10 years earlier. When Sean demonstrates intimate knowledge of their courtship, sex life, and marriage, Anna is forced to question everything she thought she knew about the finite nature of life. Birth was the second film by Jonathan Glazer (The Zone of Interest, Under the Skin), and the first that he both wrote and directed.
