Compulsion

Inspired by the infamous Leopold and Loeb case of 1924, this film delves into the minds of Artie Straus (Dillman) and Judd Steiner (Stockwell), two privileged students who commit murder in pursuit of the perfect crime. As their philosophical ambitions give way to a sensational trial, their fate rests in the hands of a formidable defense attorney (Welles), and the boundaries between intellect, morality, and injustice begin to blur.
