“A morbidly fascinating inquiry into performative justice, moral superiority and public shaming as crude fuel for reality television …”—The Hollywood Reporter
Based on the 2007 Esquire article "Tonight on Dateline This Man Will Die”, Oppenheim’s crime thriller follows To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen in his mission to make television history. In more than an encomium to a vigilante, the Some Kind of Heaven director exposes the morbid voyeurism that spurred a genre of television and social media in its wake. With a spine-tingling performance from Pattison, oscillating between the surreal and the all too real, Primetime is an immersive drama, thoughtful expose, and a hallucination rolled into one.
