ArteEast Presents Prince of Nothingwood

ArteEast Presents
- Part of
- BAM Film 2026
Directed by Sonia Kronlund (2017)
Co-presented with ArteEast
Sonia Kronlund follows Salim Shaheen, the most prolific actor-director-producer in Afghanistan, as he leaves Kabul to shoot his 111th film (or maybe 114th? He’s lost count). In tow is the director’s trusty troupe of delightful outcasts, each more eccentric than the last, determined to make films by whatever means necessary—even if it means dodging landmines and firing live ammunition to get the shot. In conjunction with ArteEast, we’re thrilled to screen Kronlund’s “magical and intrepid” (The Guardian) Prince of Nothingwood for one night only on March 3.
Stay after the screening for filmmaker Arsalan Danish in conversation with Moshtari Hilal and Parwana Haydar of the Afghan Visual Arts & History Collective
