One Battle After Another

May 10—15, 2026
    Part of
  • Pynchonesque
  • and
  • BAM Film 2026
Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (2025)
With Leonardo DiCaprio, Chase Infiniti, Sean Penn, Teyana Taylor, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall
Washed-up revolutionary Bob (DiCaprio) exists in a state of stoned paranoia, surviving off the grid with his spirited, self-reliant daughter, Willa (Infiniti). But when his evil nemesis (Penn) resurfaces after 16 years and Willa goes missing, the aging radical finds himself thrust back into the action in order to find her, causing both father and daughter to pay the price for Bob’s past life.

Loosely riffing on the narrative arc of Vineland, but updated to the modern world of ICE raids and new American brownshirts, Paul Thomas Anderson’s (There Will Be Blood, Boogie Nights) Best Picture winner includes perhaps the most Pynchonian concept not penned by the master himself: a cadre of American fascists that call themselves “The Christmas Adventurers Club.”
