The Travel Companion

Apr 10—16, 2026
NEW RELEASE
    Part of
  • BAM Film 2026
Directed by Travis Wood & Alex Mallis (2026)
With Tristan Turner, Anthony Oberbeck, Naomi Asa
Simon is a struggling documentary filmmaker enjoying one perk making his practice a little easier: free flights courtesy of his best friend and roommate Bruce, who works for an airline. But when Bruce starts dating Beatrice, Simon starts to worry his infinite supply of pro bono travel may begin to dry up. To top it off, Beatrice is also a filmmaker, and a successful one.

In their feature debut, the director duo serves up some delightfully deadpan humor as they unpack the woes of modern filmmaking, jealousy, and the highs and lows of friendship.

Q&A with filmmakers on Friday, April 10 moderated by Jesse Trussell, Director, Film Programming at BAM, and on Saturday, April 11 moderated by Dara Messinger, Director of Programming at DCTV.
