New Safety Measures at BAM

New Safety Measures at BAM

We are thrilled to be welcoming you back to in-person events at BAM! Our utmost priority is the health and safety of our staff, artists, and audiences. We are continually adapting our protocols in adherence with safety guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Occupational Safety & Health Administration, and New York State’s NY Forward, as well as implementing our own additional procedures to minimize the risk of Covid-19 transmission.

Here’s what you need to know:

Health Screening & Temperature Checks

When you enter any of our buildings, a member of BAM’s security team will conduct a brief verbal questionnaire and temperature check.

Face Coverings are Required

A cloth face mask or covering is required for all guests, except in designated locations.

Social Distancing & Capacity Limits

We ask that all patrons maintain social distance at all times in our lobbies, venues, and restrooms in order to minimize crowding. Capacity inside our venues is limited to 33% and ticketing for all BAM events will be set up with social distancing guidelines in mind. Occupancy requirements for elevators will be posted.

Contactless Ticketing

We strongly encourage all guests to purchase tickets online and in advance. When you arrive onsite you can scan your mobile device at one of our contactless scanners to gain admission to your ticketed event.

For in-person box office purchases, we do accept cash but encourage you to use a credit card.

Hand-Sanitizing Stations & Cleaning Protocols

Hand-sanitizing stations are offered throughout the campus at entrances, elevators, and other high-traffic areas.

Additionally, seats are cleaned and disinfected after every event, and restrooms, elevators, and other high-touch areas are cleaned and disinfected throughout the day.

Air Quality & Ventilation

We have made improvements to overall air quality and ventilation and expanded the use of high-efficiency filters in all of our buildings. We have also upgraded our HVAC systems with MERV 13 filters, which have been identified to be much more effective in trapping microscopic particles, including Covid-19.

BAM’s Public-Facing Staff

All BAM employees are subject to a health screening and temperature check before reporting to work. Every member of our public-facing staff is equipped with face masks, face shields, and gloves.

Ticket Protection & Flexible Refunds

In the event that a show is canceled, you will be offered a range of options, including a full refund of your ticket purchase. Additionally, if you or a member of your party exhibit symptoms of Covid or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with Covid-19, you can request a full refund, including waived fees, prior to the scheduled performance by contacting BAM Ticket Services at info@BAM.org or 718.636.4100.

Accessibility

BAM is committed to making our campus and programming accessible to all patrons. If any of our new protocols hinder your ability to access our spaces or programs, or if there is anything we can do to make your experience at BAM more accessible, please let us know. Visit BAM.org/accessibility for additional information and contact us at accessibility@BAM.org with any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Important Note for All Guests:

The most critical component of our revised health and safety protocols is our guests’ cooperation in making it a priority. We ask that all visitors attending an event at BAM comply with our guidelines and consider the health and safety of everyone around them, including fellow patrons, artists, and BAM staff. Please consider the following recommendations:

WEAR A MASK OR FACE COVERING over your nose and mouth
MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCE by staying at least six feet apart from others
WASH HANDS THOROUGHLY with soap and water or use hand sanitizer
ENTER & EXIT IN ORDERLY FASHION by following instructions on posted signs
STAY AT HOME if you feel sick or have knowingly been exposed to someone with Covid-19
BE PATIENT AND KIND to members of our staff during health and security screenings

The safety protocols currently in place are subject to change in compliance with revisions to national and local guidelines regarding Covid-19. BAM implements the most up-to-date public health procedures to improve safety for all, but they are not an absolute protection against contracting Covid-19. Guests assume their own risk by entering our spaces. Check this page for updates to our safety measures prior to attending BAM events.
