BAM Presents

Pride takes over BAM
Step into a shimmering world of pulsing beats and unbridled celebration, from basement to rooftop. Burlesque and piano bar, DJ sets and art installations, there’s no wrong way to revel. This all-inclusive, all-gender celebration of queer nightlife delights in putting on a show, breaking down barriers, and building community. Let’s do it with art. Let’s do it with dancing. Let’s do it until 2am.
“There are all different kinds of artists, who are all different kinds of colors, and all different kinds of queer, and once a year we should come together to celebrate that.”
—Viva Vidalia, performer
Inspired by the boundary-busting Pride festivities of San Francisco, Everybooty has earned its space as Brooklyn’s place to party in a city bursting with Pride. Now curated by a group of passionate members of BAM staff, the event has gotten more imaginative and home-grown over time. Last year drew on the local talent of world-class performers including trend-setter Andre J. (curated and co-produced by 651Arts); the Brooklyn drag collective Switch n’ Play; drag queens Flower Tortilla, Lady Quesa’Dilla, Viva Vidalia, and Theydy Bedbug; and the legendary House of LaBeija.
“It’s an honor to bring the raucous, unapologetic flamboyance of the queer underground into the hallowed halls of BAM.”
—Zoe Ziegfeld, performer and curator
