A Note to our Audiences
While our spaces remain closed due to Covid-19, the spirit of BAM is very much alive. Be sure to peruse our current offerings and keep an eye on this page as we’ll be continuously rolling out new programs and events—all designed for the virtual space—as a way to stay responsive to what’s going on, both at BAM and in the world at large.

Artist Residencies

Part of Fall/Winter

This fall, BAM launches a series of residencies with seven New York-based artists across a range of disciplines: Sophia Brous, Timothy DuWhite, Marjani Forté-Saunders & Everett Saunders, Jonathan González, James & Jerome, Annie-B Parson, and Ashley Tata. This expansive program, BAM’s broadest artist residency initiative to date, comes at an especially challenging time for independent artists. As the home for adventurous artists, BAM aims to affirm its role not just as a cultivator of new work but as a nurturing ground for creation exploration—at a time when theaters and spaces citywide remain dark.

Residencies begin in October and run through the spring. Artists receive a $5,000 honorarium toward the development of creative work and the use of BAM’s rehearsal rooms and theaters when possible to do so safely.
