Mary Bronstein directs and stars in this lo-fi monument to Brooklyn’s indie-sleaze era about a maddeningly oblivious young woman and her friends navigating the perils of young adulthood. Yeast was shot entirely on a MiniDV camcorder by then-unknown cinematographer Sean Price Williams (Good Time, Between the Temples) and features early performances by Greta Gerwig and Josh and Benny Safdie.
