Seven

Jun 6—9, 2026
    Part of
  • Black Cops, Spies and Overseers
  • and
  • BAM Film 2026
Directed by David Fincher (1995)
With Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow, John C. McGinley
Morgan Freeman plays William Somerset, a disillusioned police detective one week away from retirement when he’s partnered with David Mills (Brad Pitt), a hot-tempered idealist new to the city, to investigate a string of grisly murders committed by a serial killer. Seasoned and methodical—though softened by the friendship of his rookie partner’s wife (Gwyneth Paltrow)— the veteran recognizes the murders are following the Christian concept of the seven deadly sins, accelerating the investigation to its wrenching conclusion in David Fincher’s bleak, moody crime thriller.

Series curator Steven W. Thrasher introduces the screening on June 6.
