The Black Cat

Loosely based on the 1843 Edgar Allan Poe story of the same name, Fulci’s gory, shuddersome horror follows a small English town plagued by a series of violent acts, all orbiting around one central figure: a cat. An early example of the trademark hyper-violence that would net the Italian master of giallo the title of "The Godfather of Gore,” The Black Cat is macabre and slicked with blood, a vivid exercise in style sure to leave you gasping—and looking sideways at feline friends.
