    Part of
  • The American Cinema Under George W. Bush
  • and
  • BAM Film 2026
Directed by Heidi Ewing & Rachel Grady (2006)
With Becky Fischer, Mike Papantonio, Ted Haggard, Lou Engle
Directed by Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady (The Boys of Baraka), this revealing documentary follows three devout young Christians attending Pastor Becky Fischer’s Kids on Fire School of Ministry summer camp in Devil’s Lake, ND, where children as young as six years old are taught to become dedicated Christian soldiers in “God’s Army.” In a key portrait of the ascendant religious right culture under the born-again Christian George W. Bush, the children are schooled in how to “take back America for Christ,” and trained to become a part of the country’s political future.
