The Warriors

Accused of a murder they didn't commit, the members of The Warriors eponymous gang end up with targets on their back. In the Walter Hill-directed flick (with a screenplay by Hill and David Shaber), the Warriors traverse the city in a mission to evade death and prove their innocence. In a particularly memorable moment, the gang pulls into the alleged “96th Street Station” (really Hoyt-Schermerhorn) only to find the cops waiting, forcing them to bolt to the exit. Despite its lukewarm 1979 reception, The Warriors rightfully found its footing as a cult film, beloved for its campy approach to gangland.
