New Negress Film Society presents Black Women's Film Conference 2026

Sat, Oct 10, 2026
    Part of
  • BAM Film 2026
New Negress Film Society is a collective of Black women and non-binary filmmakers creating community, spaces, and films that reimagine cultural production beyond the traditions that have exploited our communities.

Since 2019, the Black Women’s Film Conference has convened hundreds of filmmakers from around the world to showcase boundary-breaking work, discuss their craft, and exchange filmmaking strategies as both celebration and survival. This one-day gathering explores Black cinema at the intersections of history, film theory, filmmaking, and political action.

Conversations and films featuring: Aicha Cherif, Joie Lee, Shirikiana Aina Gerima, Tchaiko Omawale, Akosua Adoma Owusu, Yace Sula, and Johanné Gómez Terrero.
