Under the Silver Lake

May 11—19, 2026
    Part of
  • Pynchonesque
  • and
  • BAM Film 2026
Directed by David Robert Mitchell (2018)
With Andrew Garfield, Riley Keough, Topher Grace
A young man’s investigation into the disappearance of his neighbor unravels a sprawling and volatile conspiracy. Maligned on release but now reappraised as a cult classic, David Robert Mitchell’s (It Follows) feature is an almost explicit riff on Pynchon. In a modern twist, the naive detective is himself obsessed with conspiracy theories, revealing a character that seemed fringe a decade ago, but is all too common today.
