Le Pont du Nord

May 16—21, 2026
    Part of
  • Pynchonesque
  • and
  • BAM Film 2026
Directed by Jacques Rivette (1981)
With Bulle Ogier, Pascale Ogier, Pierre Clémenti, Jean-François Stévenin
A bank robber (Bulle Ogier) recently released from prison and a young woman (portrayed by Bulle’s daughter, Pascale) roam the streets of Paris, cinematically reimagined as a sprawling board game, in a quest to understand the contents of a mysterious suitcase. A gorgeously rendered portrait of Paris imbued with an ever-present ominous rhythm, the playful middle period work from Rivette shares with Pynchon an interest in conspiracy and secret histories.
