With
Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Charlize Theron
Shooting around the globe using 70mm IMAX film cameras, director Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer, Tenet, Inception) transforms Homer’s ancient Greek epic into a luxuriously cast summer blockbuster inspired by Ray Harryhausen’s 1970s sword-and-sandal adventures and informed by Emily Wilson’s admirably savvy 2017 English translation of the original poem. The Odyssey recounts the tale of Ithacan king Odysseus (Matt Damon), confronted by literal monsters and menaces as he returns with his soldiers from the Trojan War, while at home his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland) send off scheming suitors like Antinous (Robert Pattinson).
