  • BAM Film 2026
Directed by John Akomfrah (1988)
With Tania Rogers, Evans Oma Hunter, Frank Parkes, Sally Sagoe
Sometimes released with the subtitle, “a warzone of memories,” Testament paints a portrait of the Kwame Nkrumah era in Ghanaian history. After two decades of exile following the 1966 coup d’état, government minister-turned-journalist Abena returns to her native country to interview director Werner Herzog, only to instead reckon with her political past through this fragmented, poetic film.
