Directed by Abbas Kiarostami (1987)
With Babak Ahmadpour, Ahmad Ahmadpour
A schoolboy’s search for the home of his classmate evolves into a desperate adventure in this Kiarostami film inviting viewers to see the world through the wide eyes of a child. A quintessential film from the Iranian master, the inaugural edition of the Koker Trilogy finds beauty in the mundane as Ahmad’s quest takes him around multiple towns, encountering a myriad of people—both helpful and not. This invocation of the way children view the world serves as a portrait of rural Iranian society in the ‘80s, while celebrating the wonder imbued in every moment.
