Lô & Tierra, water and earth

Summer Sounds, a new three-night series of free live performances organized by BAM artist-in-residence and curator Helga Davis, begins on Wednesday, August 5 with Lô & Tierra, water and earth. The program brings together Natie, a Creole singer-songwriter, violinist, and looper who launched her solo career after performing with Jay-Z and Beyoncé on their On the Run II Tour, and Yaissa Jimenez, who earned an MFA from NYU, then went on to claim the Salm Petry Continental Cup, a major international spoken-word and poetry slam prize. Each artist will play their own set.

Summer Sounds continues on August 12 & 19—join us for rejuvenating performances by some of the most exciting voices in NYC music and poetry, along with some welcome respite from the heat outside.
