Jul 25—30, 2026
    Part of
  • Tidal Memory

  • BAM Film 2026
Directed by Robert Downey Sr. (1969)
With Arnold Johnson, Stan Gottlieb, Allen Garfield, Archie Russell, Ramon Gordon
When the chairman of an advertising firm dies, Putney Swope—the only Black man on the firm’s executive board—finds himself the unlikely head of the company. In a prescient satire of the advertising industry, Downey (who voices the eponymous lead), both humorist and biting critical commentator, pulls the curtain back on the malfeasance of an industry at the height of its debauchery.
