  • BAM Film 2026
Directed by Greg Mottola (1997)
With Stanley Tucci, Hope Davis, Pat McNamara, Parker Posey, Liev Schreiber
Greg Mottola’s feature debut, teeming with deadpan humor and surprising emotional weight, established him as a voice of the ‘90s indie scene. After discovering a love letter written to her husband (Stanley Tucci), Eliza (Hope Davis) rallies her bombastic Long Island family to embark on a quest to uncover the truth. The group—sister (Posey) and pretentious boyfriend (Schriber), her headstrong mom (Anne Meara), and reserved father (McNamara)—traipses New York City in pursuit of answers throughout a detour-filled day that sends the family through the ringer as new revelations come to light and old familial schisms rear their heads.
