Masque of the Red Death
- 7PM
Widely regarded as the best of Roger Corman’s low-budget cult films based on Edgar Allan Poe tales, Masque of the Red Death features a sadistic and gleeful prince (brilliantly played by Vincent Price) in the midst of a plague outbreak. As the prince fills his palace with local nobility and abducted peasants, he proceeds to terrorize them for his enjoyment—often ending their lives suddenly. Filmed over just five weeks, this satire on class and disease is “The Pope of Pop Cinema” at his most macabre and twisted.
