A deep dive into New York City queer history, Jim Hubbard’s powerful documentary begins with Larry Kramer’s energizing speech in 1987 at the LGBT Center in NYC. That speech—coupled with a growing frustration in AIDS misinformation, rising drug costs, and political apathy—led to the creation of ACT UP three days later. Using personal testimonies and archival footage, Hubbard shines a light on the people who put their life on the line to protect their community.
